KC Maxson Wood Turning had it’s beginnings in 2006 from the love of woodworking. A lathe was purchased and a whole new world opened up and with the accessibility of many beautiful maples that were destroyed during a microburst the same year in northern NY, I’ve developed some beautiful bowls and other wood turnings. Over the past couple years it has become a full time hobby that is now my primary business and the accessibility of many different wood species has become abundant. Every piece is hand turned in our shop in Freeport, Maine with much care and detail to the finishing process which is multiple coats of an edible finish for a lifetime of function and beauty. Form and function is our mission statement! My primary focus are bowls but I do a variety of other turnings including vases, plates, boxes, urns, mallets, Windsor stools, etc.
